Caroline Frenkel

The Belgian violinist Caroline Frenkel combines playing with many of the world’s leading orchestras with a blossoming solo career. A recent graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she studied with Professor Yfrah Neaman and Jack Glickman, performing in masterclasses with Tibor Varga, Marco Rizzi, Charles Castleman, Sungsic Yang, Zvi Zeitlin and Eric Rosenblith. A string of competition successes established her career, including ‘Les Jeunes Solistes’ (Belgium), Maurice Warshaw Prize (GSMD – Highly Commended), and the Charles de Beriot Violin Competition (Highly Commended).

During her early training, Caroline was chosen to lead the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the Guildhall Symphony, Chamber and Opera Orchestras. Indeed, through success in the London Symphony Orchestra’s String Scheme Experience her orchestral experience led on to work with the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Joined frequently by her duo partner Christopher George, her broad solo and concerto repertoire has brought her engagements in Belgium, Holland, France, Luxemburg, Italy, Germany, England and the USA, along with recordings for BBC Radio 3.
